Inde Navarrette hosted Saturday Night Live with Gracie Abrams as musical guest. Tom Hanks returned in the cold open to reprise David S. Pumpkins, the character he created on the show's Halloween episode ten years ago, joined by cast member Mikey Day and former cast member Bobby Moynihan.
The cold open featured a recurring Trump sketch with James Austin Johnson as the president. Saidah Belo-Osagie played Nicki Minaj, and Veronika Slowikowska played Katie Zacharia.
Abrams performed "Hit The Wall" and "Here You Come, There You Go" from the deluxe version of her album Daughter From Hell, which features five additional songs. The performance marked the live debut of the second song. She dressed as Juliet for the first song and Romeo for the second, referencing Baz Luhrmann's 1996 film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.
In her monologue, Navarrette referenced previous host Shane Gillis' "whore" joke from his monologue.
Bobby Moynihan brought back his Drunk Uncle character during a Weekend Update segment about the World Series. Milwaukee Brewers players Christian Yelich and Brice Turang, along with manager Pat Murphy, appeared with their trophy.
SNL UK uploaded a pre-taped Cher Witch Project sketch from an episode hosted by Cynthia Erivo.
